This is a really hard book to work through; step work is never "fun". I had expected to just plow through it, but taking each chapter's exercises seriously is giving me some very meaty food for thought and change.

This is my first Al-Anon book. It is very easy reading and well written. I would recommend this to anyone who is working the Al-Anon Steps.

It's great for suggestions, learning to set and follow through with your own boundaries, and gaining support. It goes beautifully with the codependent 12 steps and the Big Book.

It's happened a few times, but it's gotten to the point where know what mistakes the author makes and I can guess the correct cite. I should probably just get a new book.

This book is a must for anyone interested in an extensive overview of antitrust. All topics (and there are many) are written in clear, clean, and engaging language. All are followed by examples, which I found invaluable. Extremely well organized and thoughtfully put together, this book is invaluable for students of antitrust, journalists who need to understand antitrust law, as well as professionals.Topics covered include predatory pricing, horizontal and vertical mergers, monopolies, monopsonies, oligopolies, and much more. I have referred to the glossary of terms more times than I can count. While educational and instructive, it was also a great read. Thank you Professor Sagers!!

My antitrust professor and casebook were pretty unclear, for me at least. I used this for creating my outline and to formulate my analysis for attacking antitrust problems on an exam. This E&E was really helpful in that regard—but there aren’t many actual examples and explanations, so if you’re looking for practice problems, this probably isn’t the supplement for you. That being said, antitrust law is all about working through an analysis (market definition, market power, procompetitve justifications, etc.) rather than reaching a concrete conclusion, so practice problems aren’t as important as they might be in other courses. This supplement frames the analysis in an easy to understand manner and discusses all the important cases.

After reading this, know less than when I started. Granted I fell down the stairs and my eyes don’t focus right anymore, and they no longer point in the right direction.Strongly recommended. You better order this or else!

I got this book as I felt that I would need something to complement the poorly written and structured coursebook that my professor assigned for the antitrust law exam. This book has been great for that purpose. It's well-structured and does a great job of explaining what the rules derived from different cases in antitrust law are. While this book is somewhat shorter than my coursebook, it still contains all the relevant cases.Although I used this book to help my prepare for my antitrust law exam, I think this also would be a good book to read if you for some other reason want to familiarize yourself with antitrust. The book is pleasant to read and even funny at times, and the chapters are not too long.

Professor Sagers does an excellent job laying out the principles of Antitrust Law.

After watching a few YouTube videos on React, I purchased this book based on reviews and the high number of open jobs looking for React proficiency. The book takes you thru development of a single React app that employs an API to return data. It's a good introduction for developers with prior web development experience who may be considering the transition to this currently popular tool. It does not get into too much detail in the book, but does provide other outside sources in the footnotes to supplement the books topics.I got lost during my 1st pass thru the exercises and had to reference Github to see where I made a mistake in the insertion of new code. I completed all exercises in the book and still felt I didn't learn enough to utilize React as a web development tool.One of the other reviews mentioned the Fullstack React book which I also ordered. I found the material presented in more depth, more examples and usage of other 3rd party tools for the UI.If your Javascript knowledge isn't that strong, you will have some difficulty following the new material. Take an online course to improve your skills to get the most out of this book."The Road to learn React" did stimulate my interest to purchase additional material for REACT reference and recommend REACT for future web development projects.

It's refreshing to find a codebook that keeps you glued and connected.Initially, when first approaching React, I had purchased a Udemy course from another teacher. However, I found myself getting quite lost after just a few videos. The teacher in that highly rated series kept it easy at first but then blindsides you with hard to grasp concepts and code and failed to inform well what was going on.It was from my discouragement that I looked for another resource and came across this book. The author is very adept at keeping you informed and taking you through one step at a time. He doesn't dumb it down nor does he prattle on. Rather he keeps right on track, concise, and informative. He reminds me of my favorite professor in college. In addition to such as well organized and structured learning tool, there is also a slack group community and a Github for the code/project. If you are wanting to learn React, I would absolutely grab this book.

I feel this was a rip-off.This is just a print of an out of date pdf version. The official website says that the book has been completed in September 2018 so I got an old and incomplete version. Plus after some research, it appears that the author is giving the ebook for free on his website.

I have been an engineer for over 20 years. I have Javascript knowledge, but it is at least 5 years out of date. I found that this book was absolutely perfect to teach me React and some basics in ES6 that pertain to React.The book iteratively develops a web site using the HackerRank APIs. Concepts are sometimes introduced through sample JavaScript code, other times by modifying the application to use or replace code using a new feature you are learning. In addition, many sections will have links to either the react website, Mozilla’s website, or to the author’s own website where he might go into much more depth.I was pleasantly surprised to find very few errors in this book. The author has a companion website and really seems to want to make a good experience for his readers.Perhaps my only critique of the book is that while most of the content in the book is progressively structured, there is some point where there’s just another few things that the author needed to fit in. I think this might be the nature of what you are learning though - there are a a lot of helpful tricks that can make React more succinct. This is pretty minor though and didn’t detract significantly from the usefulness of the book.Now that I have finished the book, I feel pretty comfortable reading React code and writing simple sites. There is a second book that covers state in more depth. I plan to tackle that next.

First off I like to say that Robin Wieruch's presentation on the React material is, bar none, the best I have ever come across, period!. Prior to reading his book, on the subject at hand, I had tried and failed miserably to learn React in full with 2 other 5-star rated books, but Mr. Wieruch's approach finally made the connections I needed to grasp the concepts of state vs. stateless, ES6 standards, asynchronous features, etc. I can't wait to start on his second book covering React-Redux (Taming the State in React: Your journey to master Redux and MobX ). Mr. Wieruch thank you for your wonderful book and hard work covering the React Material, and if I had to make any suggestion you think you can continue the book series, maybe a follow-up on Webpack, Jest and Flux, a book on each subject would make the best, full React series ever. Thanks again!

CONTENT OF THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS ON THE KINDLE VERSION. Unlike the PDF or kindle version, the inside is black and white on the paperback. Color is extremely nice for looking at code because you can easily tell which blocks of code belong to what, as well as syntax. It's sad to look in the preview and see color coded syntax, and see pure black and white on the actual copy. The cover quality is horrible. The last page of the book says it was freshly printed the day before it was delivered to me. It seems like it was a cheap quality front and back cover printer and was just made in a rush. Seeing how this book is free online, I would really appreciate a little bit more quality from the book. But the content is great, I love this book so far.

Excellent activity book. The art work is great. I just had the displeasure of being rubbed down by a grumpy TSA agent a couple of weeks ago. This book captures the slog that air travel has become in a humorous way.

I gave this to my wife as she flew in to Columbus, OH - she loved it. I actually think it is the perfect book for anyone traveling through the airport. It is good for all ages, but has great humor that us adults will enjoy. I will be buying lots more of these and we both highly recommend it. The humor is perfect. From the "Airport Scavenger Hunt" to the "Security Nightmare" (Find the contraband) coloring puzzle.I know of Andy through the "Cautionary Coloring Books" (R-rated) so these are nice in that we can give to anyone and know they will enjoy.

Once again Andy finds the humor in headline events...entertaining and educational!

Have really had a lot of fun doing this even if I am not on a plane yet. Kids also love it.

At first the prologue concerned me that the book would include multiple points of view, a style of which I am not a fan. But the main book stayed true to form and happily followed Karus. This made the read very enjoyable for me!The book includes action, adventure and of course we learn more about the world and the “peoples” that populate it. Karus makes what I feel are smart logical decisions. The romans are true to the historical context of the time....so we get some historical knowledge along with the story.Finished the book in two days and am looking forward to Karus reunion with his legion in the next book.

The epilogue was the best part and displayed Edelheits normal brilliance. This book was really disappointing. I'm not sure why or what happened but this title is not representative of his other works. Literally every other book he has written is fantastic. I highly encourage anyone who hasn't to read his other novels and I will be grabbing his next karus book.He might of been rushed. All I know Is that this entire book could of been written by him using 25% of the words and the plot inched forward instead of glided like it usually does. I feel like the next book is where the other 75% of the words should of gone towards. I'll say one other thing before I go....at some point you need to write a real wizard battle. Constantly killing "insanely" powerful wizard's with sucker punch 2 second arrows worked well with Ely cause it was new and comically shocking, now it's just lazy. I sincerely hope the next installment is representative of your normal brilliance of clear,concise, well paced and interesting.Summary of this book: never ending dragon flight with slow crawl to a ruin that lead to predictable fights with an amazing epilogue.

It's no big secret that I enjoy Marc's work, but I'm honest enough to give criticism when it is due. That isn't happening here, as I thought this was a great continuation of the story. The relationship between the MC and his love is extended, he picks up his super sword, and he generally kicks butt on the baddies. Some of the bad guys (or gals - equal opportunity here) are a surprise which makes for some interesting reading, and we are most definitely setting up for more stories with Karus. You should definitely start with book 1 of the Karus Saga in order to fully understand the story and characters. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this story, been waiting for it to come out. The Stiger Tales are a great series; the Karus books are shaping up to be just as good. The real problem is not wanting the story to end while you're reading it. Hopefully Marc can crank them out faster....Smile! His books are must reads for good adventure and story telling.

I have enjoyed these stories from the beginning, when I picked up stigers tigers. Just a random choice. Now, I must say, karus story has me hooked as well. Takes of the seventh is another. Now I can hardly wait until the next one in any of these three series is out. Thank you Marc. Love the Q and A casts as well. More karus, please.

I should just cut and paste my past reviews of this authors previous works...The are all well written, well edited and thoroughly entertaining. There is nothing to complain about unless, like me, I am impatiently awaiting the next offering. Congrats MAE. If you are a new reader to any of these series...don't start here. Go to the beginning, buy all of them, and start the adventure.

After reading this i cannot wait for the next release. Marc weaves some great magic here, and a compelling new universe of planets under threat by Gods, Magicians and the ultimate good vs evil dynamics.The characters evolve, the story deepens and the military Action is detailed and gripping.

I'm a fan of all MAE's books, and look foreword to each new book. Not all books can be brilliant, some are just good. This wasn't his best, but it was still a good book and helps fill in the early history of Ben Stiger's worlds. I know fans and publishers would like a new book every week, and authors get rushed by that, but haste isn't always the authors friend. MAE has created a great story line with Ben Stiger, and his achievements.

I read this book in preparation for a trip to Ethiopia. It really helped me to see the country from a different perspective. As in the book, I found people that love and others that despise Haile Selassie. Besides, the stories told by some of the closest people to the emperor are sometimes amazing, especially seeing the struggle that Ethiopian people have lived and still live. Totally recommend the book!

The Emperor is so powerful that when he elevates someone to a new position, he changes their body language completely:First, the whole figure of a man changes. What had been slender and trim-waisted now starts to become a square silhouette. It is a massive and solemn square: a symbol of the solemnity and weight of power. We can already see that this is not just anybody’s silhouette, but that of visible dignity and responsibility. A slowing down of movements accompanies this change in the figure. A man who has been singled out by His Distinguished Majesty will not jump, run, frolic, or cut a caper. No. His step is solemn: he sets his feet firmly on the ground, bending his body slightly forward to show his determination to push through adversity, ordering precisely the movement of his hands so as to avoid nervous disorganized gesticulation. Furthermore, the facial features become solemn, almost stiffened, more worried and closed, but still capable of a momentary change to optimism or approval. (34)The man becomes old, he becomes slow, he becomes massive and solemn as he attempt to stifle his quirks to fit into that stagnant court atmosphere. Power sits heavily on his shoulders. All of these observations become ironic when one realizes, by reading through Kapucinski’s piece, that in fact the ministers spend most of their time not doing their jobs, but hanging around court just to catch the Emperor’s eye to indicate their “unshakable loyalty”. (50) And that, moreover, the Emperor doesn’t like his ministers to be good at their jobs, so that he “shined by contrast”. (33)Kapucinski doesn’t need to write a voluminous tome in order to convey what life was like under the repressive rule of Emperor Haile Selassie. Instead he chooses a few details that stick out in the mind: such as the specific way in which a new minister’s body posture changes upon his promotion to power. There is something about each of these images that causes the reader to pause and think, and remember them afterwards. Five Stars.

A masterpiece. Strictly speaking it is neither history, nor journalism, but it captures perfectly the insanity totalitarian rule. Every dictator thinks he is a benevolent dictator, and every idiot king thinks he is a genius. This book perfectly captures the flavor of Ethiopian political culture, and those observations as just as true today as they were in the 70's. It ranks up there with Catch 22 as a guide to political absurdity, and rule through gaslighting.

Nothing to dislike here except for the brutal treatment of the royal family which, though not perfect, served its people relatively well compared to autocratic leaders on the African continent. I was there to observe development increase among a wider population in the southwest territory along the Sudan border and am close to finishing a non-political, insider account of those activities from 1963 to the present.

Great book about the downfall of Selassie's autocratic regime in Ethiopia on 1974. One can easily find parallels with the way other dictatorships work and try to sustain themselves. The book is mostly made of impressions from people close to the Emperor and the regime. I don't think it's Kapuscinski's best book (maybe 'The Shadow of the Sun' or 'Travels with Herodotus' are?) but there is no doubt the reading is worth it.The Kindle edition has some minor typos (mainly split words). Nothing that makes the reading too uncomfortable.

The story of how (somehow) Haile Selassie comes to and maintains power. Another revealing, well documented and personal accounting of another African leader taking charge of his country after colonialism. Kapuscinski is undoubtedly the most reliable journalist of the central Africa experience. A must read.

I hate to write anything negative about this book because it is so highly original. The approach, that of relying upon interviews with former palace insiders, would be incredibly effective were it not for the fact that the author decided to embellish their descriptions. Had he not done so, this would be one of the all-time great descriptions of autocratic excess.Still, this description of life within the Ethiopian royal palace during the last days of the reign of Hailie Selassie (a hero in the West because of his successful opposition to the Italian invasion preceding World War II) provides a fine description of the sycophants, bullies, and idiots who hang around to lick up the slops as a totalitarian regime enters its final days.Well worth reading.If you like this book, you may be interested in The Ends of the Earth: A Journey at the Dawn of the Twenty-first Century by Robert D. Kaplan.

I used this book in all three cities and found it to be a great source of information.
