I have read a lot of real estate books but this one completely sold me. Super well written.Concise and to the freaking point. No lengthy story telling like other real estate books.I have bought two single-family houses according to the instructions of this book and I am honestly happy and enjoying that I am investing in real estate.I totally recommend this book if you are interested in investment in real estate.

Have read about 2 dozen books on real estate investing, but this one is probably my favorite. Simple. Easy to read and understand. And this was a re-write, which is important when you are considering investing in real estate -- because circumstances do change over time.

Filled with information for the real estate investor. Some of the book is a little dated, but the foundations of his methods are timeless. Some investors who write books don't write very well. John Schaub makes you feel as if he were sitting across the table from you giving you drinking a cup of coffee and passing on his hard learned lessons.

I have read more than 30 real estate book over the past 3 years. This is by far the best book I have read. This is amazing place to start. Thanks John!

As a person who've read many books on the subject many years ago, I must say that Mr. Schaub greatness with this book, is that besides the immense knowledge that he obviously has and conveying, he is able to focus and analyze the real estates market from the buyer's/investor's point of view, and therefore give the reader exact information and so much sought for details. All in all, after reading this book I think that a reader will be so much more knowledgeable and understand how the market works and the dynamic of the real estate market.

I was overall very disappointed with this book. It had been highly recommended in various areas of BiggerPockets so I decided to purchase it. Most of the information is geared towards the beginner real estate investor mentality and most of the information is told in anecdotal fashion with very little real world examples. The presentation of the material is also more bullet point in nature with very short ideas presented which at times flowed poorly from one concept to the next almost in a by-the-way fashion. The best area that could have improved it were if there were more worksheet like examples of the ideas and concepts attempting to be taught.

I'd buy this book again and will refer to it as reference. While I found it useful as a beginner I felt some parts were glossed over and not fleshed out enough. All in all one of the best books for beginners, but missed the mark in some spots. I'd still recommend to all beginners.
